Food Allergy Awareness

Is intended to provide food handlers with an understanding of the importance of providing consumers with accurate information regarding the presence of one or more of the 14 named food allergens.

On completion of training the learner will understand:

  • What is food allergy.
  • The effects of food allergens on allergy sufferers.
  • The law regarding pre-packed food allergen labelling.
  • The law regarding allergen information on loose unwrapped food.
  • How to prevent allergen cross contamination.
