H.A.C.C.P. to be replaced
H.A.R.P. Hazard Analysis Risk Prevention is destined to replace H.A.C.C.P. in all sectors of the food industry in the future. A fundamental reason for this change of policy is based on the reality food businesses continue to misunderstand H.A.C.C.P. This in turn leads to failure in implementing standard food safety and hygiene prerequisites which are intended to prevent the occurrence of food incidents and product recalls.
Unlike H.A.C.C.P. Hazard Analysis Risk Prevention H.A.R.P. recognises the importance of food handlers adhering to basic operational procedures such as routine hand washing and effective cleaning of food rooms. By implementing such procedures food businesses are more likely to succeed in preventing costly and sometimes life threatening food incidents.
